This Isn't It

For the Woman Who Has Everything Together and Still Feels Like Something’s Missing

Your life looks fine on paper. But does it still feel like yours?

This Isn't It is for the woman who keeps showing up — for her work, her family, the people who count on her — and has quietly started to wonder whether the life she built still fits.

  • Put words to the uneasy feeling you've been carrying
  • Separate what you chose from what you defaulted into
  • Move toward choice at your own pace, without blowing up your life
Front cover of This Isn't It by Nekia Williams: a woman in a suit stands beside a softly lit open doorway.

If everything is fine, why does it feel like this?

You're capable. You're dependable. From the outside, things are working. And still, there's a growing distance between the life you're living and the woman you are.

This book is a place to be honest about that — without judgment, and without pressure to fix it all at once.

This may be for you if

  • You're functioning well, but feeling less and less like yourself.
  • You've outgrown something, but you're not sure what — or what comes next.
  • You're tired of telling yourself you should be grateful and moving on.

This is not a call to walk away from your responsibilities or make dramatic moves. It's an invitation to see clearly, so whatever you decide is a choice — not a default.

The framework

See. Name. Release. Choose.

Four honest movements that take you from the first uneasy signal toward living on purpose.

  1. 01

    See

Notice what's really happening in your life, beneath how well you're holding it together.

  2. 02

    Name

Give language to what isn't working, so it stops living as a vague, constant weight.

  3. 03

    Release

Loosen your grip on expectations, roles, and stories that no longer belong to you.

  4. 04

    Choose

Decide — deliberately — what you want to keep building, and what comes next.

From Chapter One

A line to sit with

“Just because you built it doesn't mean you're meant to stay in it forever.”
— This Isn't It, Chapter One

A question to begin with

Where in my life am I functioning well, but feeling less and less like myself?

About the author

I'm Nekia Williams. I spent years in healthcare as a nurse — caring for patients, holding steady for families, and learning what it means to keep showing up when you're running on empty.

During an ordinary shift, competent and dependable as ever, I caught myself asking whether this was still my path. That question stayed with me, and it became this book — written for women whose stable lives no longer feel aligned.

I won't tell you to quit or to make an impulsive decision. This Isn't It is here to help you get honest about what you already know — and choose what comes next on purpose, on your own terms.

Start with the honest question.

Available in paperback from Amazon and Lulu.
